Intro Day : Recreation of Tudor 1520 at Kentwell

I visited Kentwell Hall for the first time in September 2019 during Michaelmas.

Tudor village life was being recreated and it felt like travelling back in time. The Tudors were everywhere, going about their daily activities; there were cooks, gentry, archers, bakers, laundry and dairy women, school children and teachers, dyers, smiths, coppicers , even an alchemist. I enjoyed it so much that I really wanted to be a part of the event, so this year I joined the group of volunteers at Kentwell.

In February I attended a day of preparation for the event which will place in June.

For two weeks, in June, we're travelling back to the Midsummer of 1520 ... Meanwhile, between now and midsummer we're busy making our hand sewn clothes and learning early modern English!
